Fall 2024 Recreation Program

Regular registration closes on August 5th, 2024.

We will have a late registration that opens on August 6th, 2024. We will add an additional late fee to the regular price. Your child will be put on a "waitlist" if you register late. Once your child is on the waitlist, you will  find out whether or not we could add him/her to a team before Opening Day. If we cannot add your child to a team, then we will refund your registration.

Eligible Players:

Players must be 4 years of age by September through those who entered 9th grade in September.

Important Information:

  • Recreation soccer is an environment for players to learn and develop their skills.
  • If you would like a more competitive level of play, please check out our travel program. (begins age 7)
  • The season lasts approximately 10 weeks.
  • The first games of the season will be played at the middle of September and the last games will be played mid November .
  • All games are scheduled for Saturdays.
  • Registration fees are nonrefundable.
  • This is an all volunteer organization and we rely on parents/guardians to coach and assist.
  • Teams typically practice once a week, but the volunteer coaches set that schedule with team.
  • For our Peewee Division, participants are primarily in pre-k and kindergarten. Teams in this league will be co-ed.
  • For our Miniball Division, participants are primarily in first and second grade. Teams in this league will be co-ed.
  • For all other recreation participants, players are separated based on their current grade level and gender.

How Recreation Teams are Formed:

  • We make sure that teams have a balanced number of players from each grade where applicable.
  • We make sure that teams have a balanced number of players of each gender where applicable.
  • We make sure no one team is comprised of all travel players.
  • We do not keep entire teams together from one year to the next.

Many children often play on teams with no, or only one friend when they start the season. It is good for them. It encourages new connections and allows them to make new friends. When you sign children up for swim class, track, day camp, art class, dance class, music lessons, lacrosse, or basketball, they make new friends. We believe that Bordentown FC has found a great balance. We believe we are helping them make new connections and grow as confident individuals.

What to Expect After Registration:

  • After registration closes, all participants will be assigned to a team.
  • You will be assigned a team through TeamSnap with a coach and sponsor.
  • Teams are typically created by middle/end of August.
  • Once the teams are assigned to coaches, the coaches will contact the team about practice days / times.
  • Mid-late August is when practices typically begin.
  • Teams usually practice once a week, but the volunteer coaches set that schedule with team.
  • Game schedules are not usually published until just before the start of the season and are dependent on the number of teams in a division.
  • The first games of the season will be played at the middle of September and the last games will be played mid November .
  • All games are scheduled for Saturdays.
  • Games will be held at Friendship Field for peewee and miniballers, older teams play in an inter-town league with short travel.
  • Makeup games may be scheduled during the week for games canceled due to weather or field conditions. The make up games are not guaranteed.
  • Team shirts are provided to players and coach.
  • Players should wear cleats and shin guards.
  • Players should bring water and a ball (sizes vary based on age, check with coach).
